Having owned and operating a Hair Salon since 1990, I decided to close the doors and work less hard. I now rent a spot to do hair in another Salon, Avant Garde, here in Simi Valley. I am continuing to keep the web-site alive and well, the Owner of Avant Garde, Dianne, has been very gracious about allowing me to persue the web-site through her Salon, so I still can keep things up as before. I enjoyed the Salon for many years, but the time has come to move on. I have many irons in my fire, I still love doing hair, but I also enjoy quilting and machine embroidery, I currently am working with a group that provides food for the hungry (preparethenshare.com) and of course my family.         Kathleen, now one of the best and well known Goldwell Colorists in the business, founded Creative Hair-Tanning-Nails in September, 1990. Kathleen had a blessed start in her long career back in 1974 when she worked as an assistant for Paul Mitchell, who at that time, was teaching hair cutting & perming techniques in New York and all around the New England Area. She went "on the road" and helped shampoo hair, rinse perms, etc and in return got to learn first hand from the best. Paul moved on to Hawaii to develop his line of hair care products and she moved back to her hometown of Los Angeles.

        Having to return to school, to make up the difference in hours for State Board, she fell into the arms of the Lapin brothers, the "grandfathers" of hair color and again learned hair color from the best. Moving on, she began working with Ermanno and his partner at the time, Alan Bush, founder of Abba Hair products and a terrific hair cutting institute.

        She took some time off to have a couple children, and going back into the Salon, in came Cyl Laughlin, selling Paul Mitchell products, like Paul and J.P., out of her car, well, the rest is history with that story and Kathleen became an educator for Paul Mitchell products for about 6 years. Her Salon was taking off, and she was needed there full time, so she had to let her teaching go.

Meanwhile, she keeps the web-site alive and well!
